IKENNA INNOCENT OGU
Nigerian Artist, Ikenna I. Ogu (B.1993) is a multi talented/multi conceptual contemporary artist who is a specialist in Painting, relief sculpture & wood crafts. He is a National diploma graduate of Federal Polytechnic Nekede(2016). Mr. Ogu clinched the opportunity to diversify his craft leveraging on the dynamic nature of Polytechnic education. Notably, he finished top of the diploma class (2016) & went on to explore the Centre of Excellence Lagos state where he registered as an Associate Member of Society of Nigerian Artists(SNA) Lagos state chapter ,2018.
He currently works as the Creative Director /C.E.O of Paletino Art studios, Official Artist of Claretian Missionaries East Nigeria Province & a
Curator at Akoro Culture Creative hub ; he is a former field representative (Design department) of The Angels group (Cubana Chief Priest) & the current Creative Director/CEO of PALETINO ART STUDIOS, a registered Nigerian company in Owerri metropolis.
Popularly known as Iyke D Gee, I.I Ogu Just rounded a 4 year experiment which birthed an Eco-friendly art movement he calls HYBRID IMPRESSIONISM which deals more on converting trash to treasure mainly through the use of pieces of wood offcuts amongst other environmental pollutants.
Mr. Ogu explores a variety of media which includes Wood offcuts, acrylic paints, oils, oxides & pastels. He loves to promote dignity in labour & freedom of the African Child in the making of a Career choice, through his impressionistic visuals. In his bid to reflect his life story in his artistic journey, he wants to known globally as "The Career Advocate" He draws his inspiration from Salvatore Dali, Pablo Picasso, Dotun Popoola, Nze Barry Ikechukwu & Henry Nnaji..
He has participated in some exhibitions which includes Art of Sports exhibition Owerri, 2023
